About STPI
The Indonesian Tuberculosis Strategic Partnership Foundation or Stop TB Partnership Indonesia (STPI) believes that the elimination of tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia is achieved if it is based on a strong partnership between government, private and community elements. Since its establishment as a Foundation in 2018, STPI has initiated cross-sectoral advocacy efforts for national TB policies, built a governance model for handling TB across sectors in districts and villages, and campaigned for TB issues in social media and mass media.
STPI is looking for a Communications Manager who will primarily be responsible in strengthening the communication activities as well as building STPI’s reputation and brand within the TB and Public Health sector at the national and international level. Within the organization, this individual will plan, produce, implement, monitor and evaluate the organization’s communications strategy to realize its mission. Responsibilities will also include strategy development and implementation, communications operations, and team development and management.

Location: 1 day Work From Home, 4 days Work From Office
Working Hours: 40 hours/week
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Background – Bachelor/Master Degree in Communications Work Experience – At least 7 years in Communications role in government organizations and/or civil society organizations focusing in public health programs (preferably on Tuberculosis).
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions:
Manage strategic planning and management of communications activities of the organization, including for advocacy, stakeholder engagement and public campaign, in compliance with STPI’s strategy and donors’ policies
Manage STPI’s team and partnering third-parties to develop effective multimedia communications products of the organization and for advocacy in a timely manner
Manage internal communications on matters affecting the organization’s perception and reputation, including projects
Manage capacity building activities related to communications skills and knowledge for Digital Communications Officer, and, Public Relations and Media Officer specifically, and for STPI’s staffs in general
Perform other relevant and appropriate duties to support the Executive Director in communications and external relations
Duties and responsibilities (with estimated time allocation per week):
Manage strategic planning and management of communications activities of the organization, including for advocacy, stakeholder engagement and public campaign, in compliance with STPI’s strategy and donors’ policies (30%)
Develop and implement STPI’s communications strategy to provide update and information on TB, advocacy message(s), public education, and showcase the organization’s donor-funded project activities
Manage the team to have close working relationship with the Program team to ensure project activities communications are aligned with its objectives and STPI’s strategies
Develop, plan, and ensure that STPI’s branding strategy is implemented regularly by other staffs in the organization to appropriate target audiences
Identify gaps on the current Communications SOP, ensure that required SOPs are finalized and maintained consistently including completion of formats/templates for regular products
2. Manage STPI’s team and partnering third-parties to develop effective multimedia communications products of the organization and for advocacy in a timely manner (40%)
Ensure the team and/or third-party partner are creative in identifying effective ways to represent and publicize STPI’s achievements to the donors, stakeholders, and public
Provide technical support to STPI’s communications team in producing a range of high-quality, well-written, well-designed products including for social media, website, and reports including spelling and grammar checks – including but not limited to: project summary factsheet, press release, flyers, success stories, daily social media posts, infographics.
Ensure that the team and/or third-party partner produce high-quality photographs, videos, audio clips, graphics, and other multi-media products and manage its stored appropriately for knowledge management
Coordinate with cross-division team to ensure a creative and effective dissemination meeting are implemented to communicate STPI’s projects and other topics assigned by the Executive Director
Manage the team to monitor and evaluate the output on key products such as press release, social media, and campaigns (if implemented) accordingly
3. Manage internal communications on matters affecting the organization’s perception and reputation, including projects
Manage between cross-division teams, and, within senior executives (director and other managers) to ensure internal messages are delivered within the organization and, if relevant, consistent with external messages
In consultation with the Executive Director and Program Manager, ensure quality of presentations for organizational events will successfully communicate messages to the audience and stakeholders
Advise and coordinate development of messages or scripts for the Executive Director and, when assigned, for the Board in written or spoken form
Manage the internal communications response during and/or to crisis situations
4. Manage capacity building activities for Digital Communications Officer, and, Public Relations and Media Officer (20%)
Keep the team informed and briefed on communications activities on a regular and timely basis including requests and tasks from the Executive Director and other divisions
Plan and implement capacity building activities for the officers in the team based on a needs assessment, including identifying available resources online and through on-the-job training
Ensure that the team are updated on guidance/policies/standards to STPI and donors’ standards and policies regarding communications matters
5. Perform other relevant and appropriate duties to support the Executive Director in external relations (10%)
Ensure that the Executive Director’s are informed of communications matters
Provide technical support for STPI’s Executive Director and/or Board
Members in all public communications activities
Perform other tasks as assigned
COMPETENCIES
Have proven track of successful communications activities in the field of public health in collaboration with international/national/sub-national teams;
Demonstrate excellent understanding and/or experience in communications and design strategies and product development;
Demonstrate strong ability in project management particularly organizing meetings, activity planning, writing concept notes, and stakeholders’ coordination;
Excellent technical skills in writing, editing, and formatting using MS Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and others;
Ability to analyse, evaluate, and present clearly information from various resources to internal and external stakeholders;
Demonstrate adequate knowledge of SDGs and tuberculosis program in Indonesia;
Ability to communicate strategically in writing and verbally in Bahasa Indonesia and English;
Ability to work as a part of a team and take initiative to achieve assigned team objective;
Demonstrate good basic budgetary skills and ability to work within allocated resources;
Preference: Have good knowledge about advocacy, Indonesia’s governance system, and gender, and human rights in public health.
