STPI serves as a partnership hub to bring together the private sector, government, and other Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the TB control program in Indonesia. We work as a collaborative organization, aligning various actors across sectors to strengthen advocacy, programs, and expand access to TB services. By connecting policies, resources, and communities, STPI ensures that the TB response in Indonesia is nationally coordinated, impactful, and sustainable.

History of STPI
Since the Beginning of Our Journey, Our Goal Has Been to Support TB Control in Indonesia
Starting with associations and meetings, we established a commitment to supporting TB control in Indonesia.
2013
The Beginning
Ir. Arifin Panigoro proposed establishing the Stop TB Partnership Indonesia Forum (FSTPI) within the Asia Stop TB Partnership Forum in South Korea. In the same year, FSTPI was officially confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Health for the 2011-2017 period, Prof. Dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D.
2014–2017
Become a TB Collaboration Container
Throughout the years 2014-2016 FSTPI accommodated multilateral and cross-sector coordination and collaboration. In 2017, Alm. Ir. Arifin Panigoro encouraged FSTPI to be able to move more strategically to develop, one of the activities carried out was the preparation of UN HLM TB which will be implemented in 2018.
2018
The Formation of the Foundation
On May 23 2018, Ir. Arifin Panigoro inaugurated FSTPI as the Tuberculosis Strategic Partnership Foundation (STPI) so that it could manage donors and expand the TB elimination movement. STPI also collaborated with the Indonesian Government to organize two side events at UN HLM on TB.
2019-2020
First Donor
STPI started 2019 by receiving the first donor from Sanofi for the Tuberculosis Prevention Therapy (TPT) campaign and Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) funds to strengthen POP TB capacity. Apart from that, STPI together with the Ministry of Health successfully held the 1st High Level Meeting on TB and held an audience with President Joko Widodo. In 2020, STPI initiated the 2030 TB Elimination Joint Movement in Cimahi with President Joko Widodo. At the same time, STPI also volunteered as Principal Recipient (PR) of the Penabulu-STPI Consortium to manage Global Fund grant funds.
2021-2022
The First District Program
STPI initiated the formation of TB Alert Villages in Sumenep and West Lombok in 2021, while advocating for the use of village funds and implementing the ADVANCE-TB program. This momentum was strengthened by the ratification of Presidential Decree Number 67 concerning TB Control. In 2022, termination of assistance in these two areas will be given to the village government. In the same year, STPI co-hosted the G20 Tuberculosis Side Event in Yogyakarta.
2023-2025
Encouraging Advocacy and Campaigns at the National Level
In 2023, STPI will carry out national advocacy to support Public-Private Mix (PPM) in TB control, and officially join the TB FREE Consortium. Entering 2024, STPI is collaborating with the younger generation through the Caraka TB Institute movement, as well as helping the government to socialize the BPaL/BPaLM regimen to shorten the duration of TB treatment. Meanwhile, in 2025, STPI will embrace journalists through the TB Fellowship Program to voice TB issues more widely.
2026
TB Screening With Portable X-ray
STPI runs the Facility and Community-based Service Delivery Support for Tuberculosis (FC-SDS) program. This program focuses on case finding through screening using AI-based portable X-ray. This program also includes administering drugs and TPT, as well as providing nutritional and psychosocial support for Drug-Resistant TB (TB-RO) patients.
2030
SDGs Target 3.3 Elimination of TB
STPI is fully committed to supporting the achievement of the SDGs 3.3 target by 2030 in order to make Indonesia free from TB.
